Went out of town and forgot our phone chargers, so we stopped in an Office Depot and picked up this charger and it worked great. I really like the 6' chord that comes with it.

I was at a conference when I discovered I was without cell phone power. Running out to the nearest Office Depot and finding this product was a lifesaver. To have this be a dual purpose charger (and work within my automobile) would have been even greater.

Bought this charger because I like the brand and it was on sale. It takes forever and a day almost literally to charge. As a matter of fact my phone uncharged while using it. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!

Rated 1 out of 5by catmandu only 1/3 still working
Bought 3 of these combo pack Duracell PRO193s (a PRO163 3.1A dual USB wall charger bundled with a 6-ft microUSB cable - possibly the PRO428 - I think the model # depends on the color) during a 50% off sale in the spring.
Within 5-6 weeks (of course, 1-2 weeks past the return date), 2 of the chargers stopped working; one appears completely dead, and the other one's LED will come on for a few seconds when it is first plugged in then it turns off. The 3rd is still working, but I'm not using it very much anymore, so it's probably just a matter of time before it dies as well. I bought these for travel, and the 1st died on an overseas trip and the 2nd on a US trip, so I will not travel with the 3rd.
In addition, all 3 of the cables, which are supposedly rated 2.1A, appear to be losing/ have lost their ability to handle 2.1A. Currently, when I charge my tablets with these cables using the OEM chargers, the tablets no longer charge as quickly as they used to when I first received the cables, and for a few tablet-cable combos (I have 3 tablets and 3 Duracell cables), the tablets will actually slowly discharge while on the 2.1A OEM charger using the Duracell cable. Switching to the OEM tablet cables (which, unhappily, are all only 2-3 ft long) brings back full-speed charging. The Duracell cables are less than 6 months old, and I would guesstimate that they started failing around 3 months.
Also, note that the ?3.1A? rating is for the 2 ports combined, (2.1A + 1.0A) ? you do not get 3.1A if you only use 1 port. I have not bothered to formally test if the charger(s) actually put out the claimed amperage per port, but my impression is that none of the 3 Duracell chargers charged my tablets as fast using the 2.1A ports (or the 1A ports - I checked just in case they were mis-labeled) as the OEM 2.1A chargers, and I noticed that the Duracell chargers didn?t do as well (as their already poor baseline) when both ports were used simultaneously.
Very disappointing ? I expected better performance from the Duracell brand. I have cables and chargers from the dollar store that work better than these brand-name cables and chargers.
